First Mother's Day

May 10th 2015

The first of many mother's days to come.
Dustin and Emma (and Moose) made me feel so special.
Emma gave me a book filled with pictures of our first year together and D gave me a beautiful bible. The sweetest. There were tears. This day was filled with so much love.

BrookeKellyPhotography did the pictures above and she captured my peanut SMILING!
She is too good!

Its awesome to see this little human grow day to day...which seems like is going by way too quickly...She brings so much laughter, silliness, joy and love into our little family.
Being Emma's mama is the absolute BEST and I thank God everyday for giving me this precious life to care for.
The Church at West Franklin surprised all the mama's with babies in the nursery with this keep sake.

Yes, it was my first mother's day, but I couldn't forgot my madre. My best friend. She's been there for me through the good and rough times this past year with being a new mom. I cannot thank her enough. She's made me who I am today and I am forever grateful. She has showed me what family is all about. I only hope to be half as good of a mom to Emma.

Happy Mother's Day to all your mamas out there.
Hope you enjoyed your day with your family.

You deserve it!

That one time we went to Barnes and Noble...

This past weekend D had to work, so I was playing Mommy (my favorite thing to do) all weekend. We played inside and outside and the Moose and Emma Adventure continues... I'm actually starting to feel like the 3rd wheel when its just us.

Once D got off work, we had to run some errands... and have some fun. And that we did! We hit up Costco for all of our bulk goodies aka FRUIT. Delicious. E rode around and did some people watching aka giving her best judgement face.

After that, Dustin and I decided that E needed some new books... so off we went to Barnes and Noble. (yes, this is the fun part) Thank goodness there are still some bookstores in the world. Lets be honest, its not as fun shopping for books online. I might not be as fond of reading as Dustin is, but a bookstore is bookstore. The smell of books and Starbucks (mmm..gimme), the sound of elevator music and people discussing what they have read or want to read, and just seeing people hunkered down in their corner reading what they love. Nothing like it. Sometimes when this world gets crazy and life gets going way too fast... its nice to just be in a corner with your thoughts and your book. Its just peaceful... and fun, especially now with a kiddo! I don't want Emma to grow up butttt I cannot wait for the day in the future when we go and just hang out all day long. Emma loves looking at books and I cannot wait until she can read and enjoy them!

She got a little taste of what its like for a non-walking 10 month old. Lots of looking around, babbling, trying to put everything in her mouth, and wanting every book she touched! We played with some legos, played with a train set, picked out some great books, and looked through those great books. We ended up buying 3 new books and all in all we were probably there for only an hour, but it was a memorable one. This doesn't sound that memorable but believe me when you have a babe... its the little things/moments that are the absolute best. It gave me all the feels and Dustin being the reader of the family really had a good time watching his little girl be exactly like him.. loving life in a bookstore...

I. cannot. wait. to. go. back.
