Emma is 8 Months!

Another month has come and gone. You are now 8 months and I just can't believe it. Time (once again) is going way too fast. You are growing daily and every day just keeps getting better and better... sweeter and sweeter!

Your overall demeanor is Happy and Easy Going.

You are the happiest hearing the hot dog song on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show, seeing me in the morning after you have been asleep for 8-9 hours, seeing your daddy after he gets home from work in the afternoon, dancing at night, jumping in your jumper in the hallway with the music playing, watching Moose run around in the backyard, watching Robin Hood and hearing the words 'Ooodalalee' or 'ohhhh Emmmmmaaa' (in the tune of 'Oh toodles' - from Mickey). The biggest grin comes across your face at these times. The cutest giggles (either high pitched or sucking in air like a 'nerd' sound) comes out of your mouth.

You are the most easy going baby ever! Especially when you sit on your blanket and play for hours with your toys in the living room, when you look at books and try to figure out the pictures and words, when you watch Sophia the First or Doc McStuffins on Saturdays, when you sit in your car seat and play with bug and bird, when you we go for walks or go shopping (you love people watching - just like your mama), and when your routine is so out-of-whack yet you adapt so well. You are very much your dad in this easy going aspect. So smart and curious about everything, yet so mild mannered and mellow about it.

Some milestones have happened in Feb. The weekend of Valentines day in particular. You now take big girl baths and seem to enjoy them. Lots of bubbles, warm water, and toys galore keep you satisfied. You also began standing with support. I think the strength in your legs comes from your jumper. You love standing and I can tell that you are so proud of yourself. Miss Independent. We are still practicing on crawling. You are starting to raise your little booty and rock back and forth, so I think we are close.

Routine for food and sleeping is pretty much the same. We have increased your bottle from 6 oz to 7 oz and continue to try new foods. Your favorites are still fruits and sweet potatoes and now you love (maybe just like) veggies. Apples and spinach, broccoli and carrots, pumpkin and peas all rank pretty high on the like scale. No teeth yet, but I think you may cut 1 soon. For now you naw on teethers (all the time!).

We had a winter storm hit and the city shut down. It was insane. I was off work the 16th through the 18th, so we got to hang out. It was the best! I loved it. We got cabin fever starting Wednesday but still made the best of our time together. Daddy joined in on Tuesday since the roads were iced over, he couldn't make it into work at all. Lots of playing, movie watching, napping/cuddling (our favorite), and snow pictures (of course). While these snow pictures are super cute, I think we are ALL (Moose included) ready for Spring to be here!

This month you have grown in personality. You are a complete ham and love to tease Moose. Cannot wait to see that relationship develop. You 2 kids crack me up!

We love you so much! You make us laugh daily and it is so fascinating to watch you learn and experience this crazy world.

God really knew what he was doing when he gave us you, Bug. You are the light in our life. Love you Peanut! Happy 8 months young!
XOXO
