Emma is 7 Months

UT is undefeated for 2015. :)
Well baby girl.. I'm 3 days late in writing this. Time got away from me once again. We had such a great weekend and I didn't want to spend it on the computer. Every moment with you is precious and you are doing so many new things that I don't want to miss out on anything.

It snowed on Saturday so we played outside for all of 5 minutes, but you LOVED it (and so did your fur brother).

You are officially now in size 3 diapers and #3 nipples. We feed you 5 times a day, 6-7 oz of formula with food 3 times a day. You now want to feed yourself. You grab your bottle and take control almost every time. Also, you have started reaching for your spoon when we feed you in your high chair. Speaking of high chair, we started using it on Jan 11th and you took to it great! You LOVE it, actually! After you eat, you play for a least 10-15 minutes. So out with the old bumbo, in with the new high chair! Miss Independent!

Favorites Foods:
Baby Oatmeal with Bananas, Pears, Apples, Peaches, and Sweet Taters (see the sweet trend?), recently tried Apples and Spinach mixed and your LOVED it!

Not so Favorite Foods:
Squash, Carrots and Peas.

You are all about the teether toys. You will chew and play with them for hours on end. If you don't have a teether, you will eat your hand, so we prefer teether toys. You don't have any teeth yet, but I have a feeling we are not too far from them.

On Jan 8th you sat up for the first time on your own. It was so funny, we were playing with your piano on the floor and all of sudden I scooted back and you were just sitting there, like a little human. You look up at the TV and I thought for sure you would fall back, but you didn't. So yeah, just like... milestone complete. Sitting up like a big girl and you are loving every minute of it.

You are still loving your jumper. I'm pretty sure you would jump all day, which is fine with me because I can get things done around the house and it makes you happy (and strong). You also, like hanging out in your saucer and you have been scooting around in it (trying to get that walking thing figured out). You love standing with the help of me and your dad (and sometimes Moose and the couch). You are so strong, but I would prefer if you crawled before walking... ok... thanks!

A new thing we have been doing has been going to church at the West Franklin Baptist Church up the road. Service is at 10:45 and we take you to the nursery at 10:20. You cried the first time we dropped you off, but ever since then, you seem to take to it quite well. No crying because you are usually ready for your bottle and nap, which works out perfectly. The ladies that help out are always so sweet and take great care of you. This is good sign for daycare, Bug. It makes us really happy to see you adapt so well. We are looking at starting you (at least half time) at daycare when you turn 1. We are "shopping" around.

You are getting quite the personality little Miss. You are always focused on your toys and always trying to figure things out. Your daddy was like that as a baby and he turned out super smart, so let's continue on that path! You are also testing the volume of your voice by talking and screaming... and you will let someone know when you are not happy with the situation. You tend to get frustrated easily (especially with your Little Piggies toy) Little red-headed temper, I think. You might have gotten that from me. Sorry kid.. I guess it is payback for the way I was with Grammy and PawPaw.

Overall though, you are one very content and happy baby. You barely cry (unless you are hungry or tired) and you smile and giggle constantly. AND (mom and dad's favorite) you are still sleeping great (830p-645a).

Cute little Peanut.

Another month down. Happy 7 Months Baby Bug. I cannot handle your cuteness.
Mom and Dad (and Moose) love you!

XOXO

Happy 2015!

A Few Things...

Its a New Year! Welcome to 2015! Crazy to think you will be 1 year young this year! Ah!

You have a new grin/snicker and it is adorable.

You hold your hands in the prayer position for comfort and for going to sleep. Sweetest thing.

You LOVE fruit (mainly pears).

You jump and jump and would probably jump for days. (getting strong)

Still not sitting up on our own.. you are trying though!

New routine at night with me, you and daddy is to dance and sing (mainly to Disney songs because I happen to know all the words to the majority of them. not embarrassed about that). You laugh and love it. We LOVE it as well.

Its going to be a GREAT year! Me and your daddy have some resolutions to get healthier, start going to church more, go on some trips with you (especially the beach. you will see the ocean this year!), etc.

We will see what else happens. Can't wait to see what the year has in store for us!

We love you. Happy New Year to our growing peanut!

Christmas 2014

Christmas. The best day, if you ask me. This is the day that Jesus Christ was born. He is the reason why we are all here. So we celebrate and remember this day and honor Him.

It is very special.

Christmas Eve we celebrated over at Grammy and Paw Paw's (this marks your 3rd Christmas event). We started at noon and ended around 8. It was a long but joyful day. We ate first. Sausage balls, pigs in a (pretzel) blanket, queso, spin dip, fruit, veggies... So much food. You on the other hand, took a nap during this time. After that, you were ready to open some gifts and Amelia, Davis and Ava were too. There were so many presents to be opened.. Grammy and PawPaw went above and beyond for their grand kids. Y'all are very loved! You got lots of clothes and toys. Your favorite had to be the rocking lamb though. Once you get a little bit bigger and can actually stay on, you are going to rock all day long (i just have a feeling)

Next up, was Christmas morning at our house. Santa came and left some presents for you. Our new family tradition is to wear our PJs and make some pancakes (you will get to enjoy next year). They were delicious. Me, Moose, and your Dad had a blast. You were loving every minute too.

After that we went GiGi and PaPa's in the Boro... Again, the grandparents outdid themselves.

Christmas this year was the absolute best.. because you were here! We love you!

Emma is 6 Months & Countdown to Christmas (Picture Post)

It's been a while since... So I'm doing a combo post of your 1/2 Birthday Blog and Countdown to Christmas.

Last day of work for 2014 was Dec 19th. And man, did it feel good to be done. I miss it but... Stress is over. Annuals are done! (Wahoo!) This break has been jam packed full of celebrations of the holidays, family time (my favorite), errand running, and food (can't forget the food!)

Overall, this month you have been pretty quiet. I think you are taking everything and learning new things daily. You are one observant girl. You are pretty shy around new people, which is fine with me. Stranger danger! You have been sleeping through the night still (we are now at 9p-7a). Also, you now are exclusively a formula baby. No more pumping or breastfeeding for this mama. Very bittersweet and my hormones have been way out of whack because of it, but, you on the other hand, don't seem to mind. I'm very thankful for this. You are very easy-going and susceptible to change. Again, very thankful.

6 month stats - 16.5 lbs (50th percentile) and 26.5 inches.
Dr Moss says you are perfect and have great muscle tone. That's what we like to hear!

Your 1/2 birthday landed on Christmas Eve so I decided to do a picture everyday counting down to Christmas, the birthday of our Lord and Savior. It worked out perfectly, and its a fun way to see you grow over just 1 month... Enjoy!

You met Santa. You were not thrilled.

We started celebrating Christmas early by going to Memphis on the 20th. We opened presents, had delicious food, and hung out with Grammy's side of the family on Saturday night. Sunday morning we went to Aunt Lauren and Uncle Mark's house for Christmas. We had golden rod eggs, toast, sausage, donuts (Family tradition. Mimi's recipe). We left Memphis on Monday morning, closing it out with a concert at the church the night prior. You liked it (after you ate). You were bouncing and smiling... loving all the lights and singing.

Happy Half Birthday pretty girl.

Me and your Daddy love you, Peanut!
XOXO
